Elevation Church Ballantyne is the main broadcast center and the campus of Elevation Church. It is recognized as one of the fastest-growing churches in the United States, with a total weekly attendance of over 25,000 people. The congregation is headed by pastor Steven Furtick, who is also a best-selling author and songwriter.
The Ballantyne campus is a two-story campus with a U-shaped layout. It houses an auditorium complex that can comfortably seat up to 1,800 people. Walk inside, and a high-ceiling lobby will greet you with a lot of natural lighting. The structure itself feels massive but very accessible. Because it is the broadcast center of Elevation Church, this campus is also equipped with state-of-the-art broadcasting equipment. The facility includes an AVL broadcast suite with multimedia and global streaming capabilities.
The center also features a Children’s Wing. This 17,000 square foot extension, dedicated to teaching the Word of God, can hold up to 500 young attendees. The wing is equipped with classrooms, theaters and other educational facilities.
Elevation Church started as a church plant sent in by the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. It initially started with seven families, including Furtick’s, that settled in Matthews, North Carolina. The congregation initially met at Providence High School, but they eventually establish their permanent campus nearby.
The church grew out of that Providence campus and spread throughout the Charlotte area, growing to another six locations. In 2016, the headquarters moved to Ballantyne. They have also expanded throughout the southeastern United States, and even as far north as Toronto.
Elevation Church is an active contributor to charity in the Charlotte area. Since 2006, it has given more than $10 million to local causes and organizations. They also host regular outreach programs, like Love Week and the Orange Initiative.
